PPAB offers the only Accredited Training Technician and Professional Canine Trainer  certification for professionals who believe there is no place for shock, choke, prong, fear or intimidation in canine training and behavior practices.

PPAB also offers the only psychometrically developed examination for Training & Behavior Consultants who also support  these humane and scientific practices

Please note, until further notice, the criteria has been amended for "Coaching Videos" for each of the three Accreditation levels. The updated criteria can be found in this supplemental guide. This is due to social distancing and the inability to hold in person coaching sessions.

Accreditation Board Member Code of Conduct

Generically referred to as The Guiding Principles

Preamble

The survival and enhancement of the pet industry depends upon recognition that the numerous professions found within the industry must be based on respect for the dignity of the animals in our care, the people we serve, and the colleagues with whom we work. We must seek to establish the highest ethical standards, abiding by the codes of this credentialing body, and to satisfy the needs of our clients in a professional, proficient and ethically appropriate way. Acceptance of and adherence to this Code of Ethics is implicit for members of this credentialing body.

Application of the Code

The Code of Ethics applies to all credential holders of this organization, irrespective of credential level, and commits credential holders to complying with the standards, codes, rules and procedures of the Pet Professional Accreditation Board.

Please note that a lack of knowledge about or misunderstanding of this code is not in itself a defense against an allegation of unethical conduct.
