The Credentialing Process for Canine Training Technician CTT-A


Canine Training Technician - Technician – A definition

Dictionaries define the word technician in several ways.  “A person skilled in the technique of an art or craft” or “An expert in the practical application of science”.  We define a Canine Training Technician (Accredited) as “a technician skilled in the application of science and artistic endeavor who delivers results through the development of mutually respectful, caring relationships”.Canine Training Technicians work primarily on teaching  pet dog manners and work or are employed alongside a Professional Canine Trainer. 


The Canine Training Technician (Accredited) assessment is divided into four sections. 

            Section I                      Knowledge Base Assessment

            Section II                     Basic Training Skills

            Section III                    Creating a Positive Conditioned Emotional Response

            Section IV                    Running Training Classes

            Renewal          Every 24 months. Renewal fee and 10 CEUs required
