Professional Canine Trainer -  A definition

Dictionaries define the word Trainer in several ways.  PPAB defines a dog trainer as a professional that teaches  obedience classes, day training, private training sessions, board and train programs and focuses primarily on pet dog skills and manners. We define a Canine Trainer (Accredited) as “a training professional  skilled in the application of science and artistic endeavor who delivers results through the development of mutually respectful, caring relationships”. 


The Professional Canine Trainer (Accredited) assessment is divided into four sections. 

            Section I                      Knowledge Base Assessment

            Section II                     Basic Training Skills Videos

            Section III                    Creating a Positive Conditioned Emotional Response Video

            Section IV                    Running Training Class Videos

            Renewal                       Every 24 months. Renewal fee and 20 CEUs required
